Description
Pre-Columbian, Maya, Late Classic Period, ca. 600 to 850 CE. This is a lovely, mold-made sculpture of a matriarchal female, probably a noble lady, with a fillet headdress, a tunic, and a necklace and ear ornaments. She exhibits a refined facial expression with a large nose and careful almond eyes, a clearly recognizable face that is what the Maya considered to be beautiful. Size: 5.6" H (14.2 cm)
