A Japanese ivory and boxwood okimono of a fisherman casting his net, Meiji period, his head, limbs and net carved from ivory, the base carved as a body of splashing water, set with mother of pearl beads, 22cm high x 29cm long
Condition
there is some damage to this okimono throughout. He has been broken off the base at some point and has a cracked right leg, his net rope is broken, he is missing something from the basket on his back, and his hatr has broken off at some stage. the signature tab is missing from the underside.
