A choice specimen of this British naval hero Earl Howe Portrait obverse: “The Glorious First of June” mule with the Talbot Store reverse: “Liberty and Commerce” having 1794 date in exergue (on the reverse below the central part of the design). A lovely example having hard smooth semi-prooflike surfaces highlighting the otherwise typical soft strike. This piece is well centered with the 1794 date bold and sharp, fully upon the planchet. Underlying natural mint luster makes this scarce Mule type particularly pleasing. Absolutely one of the very finest we have seen and offered.
