Description
Pre-Columbian; A large Narino Coquero effigy from Colombia, ca. AD 850 - 1500. It is 12-1/2 in high and depicts a male figure seated on a bench. He is depicted chewing coca leaves, as indicated by the large bulge in his right cheek. Extensive resist painted decor is used to create clothing and facial tattoos. Heavy mineral deposits.
