Description
A large Cypriot terracotta bilbil jar, c. 1550 – 1200 BC, the inverted piriform body with flared foot, the long cylindrical neck with ridge around base and flared mouth, a strap handle to side. A large and pleasing example of this classic Cypriot pottery form with much of original painted decoration remaining. Late Bronze Age, 1550-1200 BC, H: 10 1/8 in (25.7cm). Ex Rice collection, Southern California.
