Description
A large Ptah-Sokar-Osiris figure, Late Period, c. 664 – 332 BC, on large rectangular base and depicted mummiform, wearing tripartite wig with broad collar, the facial area gilded with cosmetic details in black pigment, a vertical column of hieroglyphic text down the front of the legs which continues across the central portion of the base. The figure is nicely preserved with much remaining pigmentation in blue, green red, black and white. 19 x 13 ¼ in x 5 ¾ in (48.1 x 33.6 x 14.6 cm). An attractive example of a popular tomb offering from the period combining three gods associated with resurrection, Ptah, Sokar and Osiris. Ex Nomis Antiquities.
