BIOGRAPHY: Helen Schepens-Kraus (1916 - 1988, America), was born in Spokane, Washington and began painting landscapes and seascapes of the Central California inland and coastal regions as well as nudes and floral still life paintings. She painted in the Impressionist influenced "California Style," using loose brush strokes and being attentive to light modulations. She exhibited widely in the Monterey and San Jose, California and was an artist member of the Carmel Art Association. C. 1965, Schepens-Kraus eventually moved to Kennebunkport, Maine where her work reflected the Eastern costal and harbor areas.
