A superb pair of flintlock pistols by Pietro Mana, dating: last quarter of the 17th Century, provenance: Brescia, dating: last quarter of the 17th Century, provenance: Brescia, Smooth, three-stage, 13 mm cal. barrels, octagonal at the first part and then featuring two, round, segments, foresight, nozzle with ring; flintlocks signed (not perfectly legible) - Pietro Mana B.cia -; tang carved with a snake among floral motifs, hammer with floral motifs, batterie with bas-relieved mask; wooden full stock, slightly sculpted with beautiful, steel mounts majestically carved with winged dragons among floral motifs, butt-plates depicting cavalry scenes in bas-relief. Trigger guards depicting a monkey. iron-tipped, wooden ramrods. , length 47,5 cm.
