Description
Charles Ahrenfeldt (France, 1807-1894) retailed by Wright Tyndale & Van Roden (American/Philidelphia, active late 1800's to early 1900's), late 19th century. A set of eleven porcelain luncheon plates having a floral border with yellow and blue flowers and blue scroll on light green ground with a Canton style floral center on white ground. Marked to the back with stylized C over A "FRANCE DEPOSE" and "C. Ahrenfeldt Limoges for WRIGHT TYNDALE & VAN RODEN PHILADELPHIA" in green underglaze. Approximate diameter 8.75". Provenance: Property from the Estate of Mr. John L. Roper II, Former Owner and CEO of NORSHIPCO (Norfolk Shipbuilding and Drydock Corporation), of Norfolk, Virginia. Mr. Roper collected a number of fine American antiques and art including a noteworthy early American coin collection that sold at auction in 2014.
