Condition
Rare first edition. Text published for the use of the University of Turin, where Scajola was the professor in Political Economy. In this work the privileges are disapproved because they reduced the progress of the arts and industries, deprived consumers of the benefits of a lower price determined by competition and impeded the marketing and the production.
For the licenses of invention it has devoted a special paragraph, where are showed, the different rights for authors of an invention or a literary work.
Scialoja does not discuss the right of literary property, where the fraud for texts is easily recognizable; instead is very controversial the case to claim a discovery made on the basis of others insights.
The author discusses the importance of ensuring the patent to an inventor to grant him a proper gain, but he does not hesitate to affirm that the patent is censurable in the interest of the public and for the undoubted benefits in the production. Back cover lacking, dampstain on the front cover, slight lack on the half-title, but fine specimen uncut.
