Item Details
Description
A rare and historically important capstan by the American Ship Windlass Co., Providence R.I., Patent 1874. This capstan came from the "Alcyone", a luxurious 75 foot yacht of 40 tonnes. Alcyone belonged to Harry Markland Molson, Mayor of Dorval, (Grand son of John Molson) who died on the Titanic. The Alcyone was taken apart during the WWI. Watercolour of the Alcyone Lot #120c.
