Gandhara Head of a Boddhisattva, c. 2nd Century A.D.
Pleasant features with long hair ending in curls, smiling sllightly under his well groomed moustach, almond shaped eyes and a ÒtikkaÓ or "bindu" mark on his forehead.
The ÒtikkaÓ usually is applied as a mark of having performed devotional practices.

Provenance: Professor Z. P. Butt extensive collection of sculptures of the Gandhara empire.
Professor Butt established the Zahid Butt Kashmir Museum in Islamabad over a period of thirty-five years.
