Condition
Rare illustrated edition, revised and corrected, the important translation made by Amelot de la Houssaie dell '"Oraculo manual y Arte de prudencia", a famous collection of aphorisms of the great Spanish writer Baltasar Gracian y Morales. The Gracian, 1601-1658, a Jesuit, was very active preacher and writer. In his works aimed mainly secure the prototype of the perfect politician and the perfect prince. Massimo Spanish moralist of his century, nell'Oraculo aphoristically summarized the contents thought in his earlier works linking up to the tradition of Italian political writers, such as Castiglione and Guicciardini.
