Rare original edition illustrated. The opera tells the story of eight of the most important members of the Academy Altdorfina, jurists, philologists, historians and philosophers: Philip Camerarius, Georg Remus, Johann Christoph Oelhafen, Georg Richter, Tobias Oelhafen, Magnus Fetzer, Christoph Peller, Georg Karl Woelcker. The portraits of these characters, placed at the beginning of each life, are engraved by Wolfgang Philipp Kilian, who puts his signature at the foot of the plates.

Concerning him, are cited in particular some engraved plates for the Vitae et effigies procancellariorum Academiae Altorfinae, printed in Nuremberg in 1721 ... he performed good portraits. "The Academy of Altdorf was founded by the free imperial city of Nuremberg in 1578, to satisfy the need to express freely, in the theological context and in the ecclesiastical policy, a Lutheranism based on Melancton’s vision: It was of great importance especially its action in the legal and philosophical context.
