Oil on canvas painting, displaying a harbour scene from the city of Dunkirk (Dunkerque) in Northern France. Painted by famous and well-listed French master painter Henri Dabadie (1867-1949)*. Various ships docked in front of the beautiful architecture of the seaside port city - the Town Hall building. Signed and inscribed lower right - "A mes amis Paul et Madeleine Huzot / affectueusement / Henri Dabadie". Made out to his friends - Paul and Madeleine Huzot. Framed in it's original Gilt wood and gesso frame. A plaque on the back side - DUNKERQUE / HENRI DABADIE. Measurements: Approx. 27.5" x 23.5" framed, the scene is 21" x 17", the stretcher - 22" x 18"; Quite heavy - weighs about 11 lbs. 10 oz. * Henri Dabadie is best known for his landscapes, notably from his travels to French Indochina and Algeria.
