Rarely found Italian felt and cloth Lenci portrait doll of the actress Raquel Meller, made in salon-style with long slender arms and legs. Face designed especially for this model with dark side-glancing eyes, gray eyeshadow and dark brown mohair wig. Her lovely detailed organdy dress with applied felt trim and pink flowers, including hat and parasol, with layered organdy undies, was designed by Marcello Dudovich. This doll was shown in the 1925 Lenci catalog as style number 263. It is pictured in Nancy Lazenby’s Lenci doll book on page 150. Overall very good condition, some fading to hat, overall yellowing to dress and wear on shoes.
