A very fine early example, circa 1880-1890`s, of an 1860`s French Engine & Tender depicted in miniature form. Unusual coloring which is typical of French toys it has a multi colored finish with a substantial amount of the original paint remaining, there was some flaking to finish which has now been stabilized. At some point in time this toy could have been accompanied by passenger or freight cars or quite possibly just sold by itself. Tender is attached to engine by means of a screw and wingnut. A special piece for those who appreciate early French toys as well as those that admire early railroadiana. One of the front wheels is missing. Overall in good to very good condition with no apparent repairs or restoration.
