PANDER & ZONEN, DEN HAAG - AMSTERDAM, NEDERLANDS, EARLY 20TH CENTURY, each with a serpentine "C" scroll crest rail within rounded stylized rocaille corners, on cushion carved rectangular stiles flanking a reticulated splat of scrolling foliage and cartouche details, on a trapezoidal drop in padded seat covered in rose colored upholstery, enclosed by a conforming plain seat rail raised on cabriole legs with acanthus leaf carved hips and ending in claw and ball feet, one chair with metal label, "H. Pander & Zonen / Meubelfabrick / den Haag-Amsterdam." Height: 40 1/2" Width: 23" Depth: 21" NOTE: H. Pander & Zonen Meubelfabrick den Haag-Amsterdam, was originally a furniture company based in den Haag, under the managing director Harmen Pander and his son Henk Pander. In 1924 he purchased a bankrupt aviation company and renamed the company as well as changed the company's focus to that of light aircraft. By 1934, due to unfortunate circumstances and difficulty in producing a successful aircraft, they were forced to close the doors.
