Description
An extremely decorative Central Asian embroidery that may be well used as either a wall hanging or bed spread. The suzani consist of silk embroidery on a cotton ground cloth. Central Asian embroideries of this type were made to be decorative hangings in their homes, and occasionally made as dowry offerings upon the betrothal of a young woman. There is evidence textiles like this were also trade items, encouraged by the western marketplace, even at the time it was made in the early 20th century. The condition is good, with no holes, repair or stains. SIZE - 9'4" x 7'1"
