Description
19th century AD. A silver desk seal with ribbed and domed base, openwork heraldic achievement with hatched crest of a Maltese cross and eagle's head to the underside; the arms blazoned 'gules, a fess vair, in chief two lions rampant argent, a stag's head cabossed argent' with motto 'Semper Fidelis' (ever faithful); engraved to the reverse 'John Seacome Burows Born 1854'. 33 grams, 58mm (2 1/4").
