Guidelines for residing at the Railway Hotel at Ranchi, capital of the Indian state of Jharkhand, in eastern India, capturing the flavor of the British Raj and colonial privilege. It is noted that "The Hotel is intended for the use of Europeans and Indian gentlemen conforming to European ways of living." The "Sundry charges" in addition to board, lodging and lights included in the room rates, there are added charges for a Punka in the bed room, per cooly; for an errand boy; keeping a motor in the garage (with charges for motorcycles added in manuscript), etc. A scarce piece of ephemera: OCLC/WorldCat does not list any examples in institutional libraries.

Some light foxing, old folds, a few archival repairs; very good.
