Description: Includes 12 plates in colour and text decorations by Ernest Shepard. This copy has been recovered by Bayntun (Riviere) Bath in full blue morocco leather with extensive gilt decoration and lettering.

Alan Alexander Milne (1882-1956) was an English author, best known for his books about the teddy bear Winnie-the-Pooh and for various poems. Milne was a noted writer, primarily as a playwright.

Condition

The cover's spine is heavily worn, with pieces missing at the top and bottom, and with scuffs to the front edge and in several other spots. There are other surface scuffs but no prominent stains, and no notable fade to the gilt illustration on the front. Front and back covers are attached, but with some play to the front, with a visible crack to the inside front cover gutter. The inside (210 numbered pages) is in very good condition. There are no stamps or other attachments. Other than the partial looseness at the cover, the binding is secure, with no loose or missing pages throughout the body. The art and text are clean and unfaded.
