GERMAN BRACKET CLOCK - Gothic Revival Clock by Winterhalder & Hofmeier of Schwarzenbach, Germany, the 8-day brass time and strike works stamped "W&H, Sch", the dial marked by English retailer W.C. Travers of Southport, circa 1875. 20" x 12" x 6 1/2". Shrinkage crack to front, Includes pendulum and key. Winterhalder & Hofmeie. were considered the finest clockmakers in the Victorian era, having several manufactories in towns in Germany’s Black Forest region. The company was established in 1810 by Thomas Winterhalder in Friedenweiler, southern Germany, and was continued by his three sons Matthäus, Karl and Linus, and other descendents until 1937.
