Item: French Antique Bocage Terre de Fer Ironstone Soup Tureen

Date: circa 1900

Dimensions: 11 inches handle to handle x 8 inches diameter at rim x 5.5 inches tall

Condition: No chips or cracks, some crazing and light spotting inside bowl.

Terre de fer, which means "ironstone" in English, is a highly collectible form of ceramic, originating from France. Terre de fer is most often found in the form of plates, with Longchamp of Dijon among the most recognized of the manufacturers.
