Description
A fine Japanese cast iron tea pot / tetsubin by artist Kibundo Hatano Shohei (1812-1892). Signed and sealed on the side. Ribbed tapering body in the form of a ribbed Buddhist jewel, having a bronze handle decorated with leaves and vines, dragonfly formed finial on lid. Also sighed on the underside of the teapot, see photos. Measures 8.5" high to top of raised handle, 6.5" wide to end of spout. With original signed wooden box, 9.25" high, 6.25" wide, 6.25" deep.
