Walter Brown Gibson (1897-1985) was a stage magician, prolific author, and creator of The Shadow character for a fictional detective/crime series of which he wrote some 283 out of 325 novels. Gibson also wrote more than 187 books on such diverse subjects as: magic, psychic phenomena, hypnotism, spiritualism, astrology, mind games, true crimes, mysteries, judo and ju-jitsu, paper-craft, rope knots, yoga and more.
