Description
A good Chinese bamboo brush pot, bitong, Qing Dynasty or later, well carved on both sides with precious objects with vases on a table, with flared neck and foot rim, 16cm high x 13.3cm wide The calligraphy on the brush pot 丁亥 could be for the year 1947 or 1887 in the Chinese sexagenary cycle. 秋 means autumn. Judging from the patina and quality of the brush pot it is likely to have been made in 1887 rather than 1947. The inscription '松山 could be the name of the artist who carved the brush pot or might refer to where the object was made, such as the name of the artist's home study room, as 松山 literally means 'the mountain of pine trees'. -1清代(或晚)博古图竹笔筒
