Description
Manufactured in United Kingdom, 1850 CE. A heavy and enormous Fisher brand broad axe head, made of iron, used in the Crimean War and found there in a battlefield position, stamped with two makers' marks: "FISHER SHEFFIELD" and one that is very hard to read but seems to refer to its casting. These axes would have been useful for digging trenches or building earthworks; the bolt action rifle was the weapon of choice for British soldiers during this little-known conflict. Size: 9.2" W x 5.4" H (23.4 cm x 13.7 cm)
