Description
Cambodia, Khmer Empire (Angkor culture), ca. 12th to 13th century CE. This is a bronze palanquin hook with a lotus-style design, a cast fitting with a curved handle. Hooks like these were used to hold ropes whilst riding elephants. See a similar example from the Brooklyn Museum of Art. Comes with custom display stand. Size: 5.25" W x 6.75" H (13.3 cm x 17.1 cm)
