Description
Yedinym Udarom! [A Unified Strike], a poster by Veniamin Pinchuk (1908-1987, People's Artist of the Soviet Union). Iskusstvo, Leningrad, 1942, 50 x 71 cm.
This poster was likely produced after the 2nd Moscow Conference (August 1942) attended by Stalin, Churchill and Roosevelt's special envoy Averell Harriman. Stalin, facing yet another ferocious German offensive, wanted Allies to open the second front in Europe. In this he did not succeed; yet several important agreements were signed, and the conference was declared a success by all sides. For information about the artist, see the previous lot.
