Description
Mount Vernon is the iconic 18th century mansion of George Washington in Virginia. It was built by his father in 1735 and started out as a one-story farm house. He moved there in 1754 and spent the next 45 years personally supervising every renovation. Washington chose decorations and aesthetics that represented his new democratic nation.
