Description
Aime-Jules Dalou (French, 1838-1902) for Manufacture Nationale de Sevres (France, 1756-), late 19th/early 20th century. A pair of "Masque de Silène" wall pockets, each depicting Silenus in mottled brown and blue glazes, based on Dalou's bronze "Le Triomphe de Silène" in the Luxembourg Garden in Paris. Each stamped "DALOU" to the lower left front and "SEVRES" to the reverse. Approximate height 5.325", width 3.825", depth 2".
