Description
An early Victorian 12ct gold sapphire five-stone ring. The graduated rectangular and cushion-shape pink sapphire line, with scalloped sides, openwork shoulders and scrolling motif band. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1856. Ring size O. Weight 1.4gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Replacement stones. Some replacement claws, some claws deficient. Band is thin. Evidence of repair to the inside of band, gallery and shoulders. Gallery worn. Sapphire medium slightly purplish-pink, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions. Stones in good condition with minor abrasions. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.
