Description
A late Victorian gold, garnet and enamel necklace. Designed as three circular garnet, white enamel and rope-twist drops, with snake-link swag detail and back-chain. Length 40.5cms. Weight 23.6gms.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. Clasp and some solid sections in the chain near the clasp likely later addition. Garnets medium purplish-red, well saturated, with good to fair clarity and typical inclusions. Garnets in good condition with minor abrasions. White enamel probable replacement. White enamel slightly greyish-white, many circular details have dark spots and/or cracks. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.
