Description
A Victorian Silver-Plated and Cut-Glass Eight-Light Epergne Candelabrum and Plateau attributed to Thomas Bradbury & Sons, circa 1900
33-3/8 inches high (84.8 cm)

The epergne having trompe l'oeil grapevine frame, surmounted by ruffled cranberry glass bowl raised on vine, leaf, and grape bunch mount, conforming design to eight arms emanating from standard, four arms bearing small, hanging baskets with cut-glass plates, end of each arm fitted with candlecup, figural standard raised on sloping paneled platform base, panel to front engraved CC, raised on four scrolled feet, the epergne sitting over mirrored plateau with scrolled lower apron and feet.
Condition
Cranberry glass bowl likely not original to piece, break to leaf detail and vine to base, bending to one hanging basket, chip and losses to rim of one glass basket plate, light fleabit to base rim of cranberry bowl, bending to some ornamental elements, minor scratching to surface of mirror to plateau, some bubbling and silver loss to mirror, with surface scratches commensurate with age, polishing, and use.
