Eli Terry, Jr. stenciled column and splat shelf clock, Plymouth, Connecticut, ca. 1840s. Stenciled columns and splat with reverse painted and stenciled lower glass tablet. Wooden works, weight driven, with hand painted dial, claw feet (some loss on feet). Very nice label, "Patent Clocks, Invented by Eli Terry, Made and Sold in Plymouth, Connecticut by Eli Terry, Jun'r.". Measures approx. 28 1/2" tall x 17" wide x 4" deep. Many Eli Terry Clocks which depict a home or building on the reverse painted glass tablet, are actual homes in the Town of Plymouth and surrounding Connecticut towns of the time period.
