Luristan, modern-day Iran, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A finely-shaped, elongated triangle dagger blade with an indented ridge running to a short triangular tang pierced with three drilled holes for handle attachment. This dagger reflects the economy of style and fine cast bronze work that elevates Luristan metalwork above its contemporaries. Size: 10.2" L x 1.7" W (25.9 cm x 4.3 cm)
Provenance: Ex-Estate of John Piscopo. Mr. Piscopo was one of the largest collectors of ancient weapons in the US with a collection that spanned all cultures, all ages.
