Description
Roman North Africa, ca. 4th to 5th centuries CE. This lamp is in the classic style of mold-made lamps from Roman North Africa. It has a sunken discus, two pour holes on either side of the central design, an unpierced lug handle, and a wide channel running down the nozzle. The design on the discus of this lamp looks like a trophy. It is surrounded by diamond and quatrefoil shapes, also classic markers of lamps from this time and place. Size: 6" L x 3.5" W x 2.2" H (15.2 cm x 8.9 cm x 5.6 cm).
