ASTRONAUTS: An unusual T.L.S (in facsimile) by 28 American Astronauts, one page, 4to, Houston, Texas, 17th March 1965, to C. W. Pedersen, on the printed stationery of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The astronauts state that they fully appreciate their correspondent's 'dedication and support in your work with the Apollo Spacecraft program' and continue 'It is this sense of teamwork and the dedicated efforts of every person involved that is our own assurance of success in the exploration of space. As members of this team, we give you, in turn, our pledge to do our best in this joint effort'. At the base, in three columns, appear the blue printed facsimile signatures of various astronauts including Clifton Williams, Charles Conrad, Michael Collins, Gene Cernan, Ed White, Gus Grissom, Charles Bassett, Elliot See, Alan Shepard, Roger Chaffee, Bill Anders, John Young, Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong. Some very slight age toning to the edges, most likely caused by previous framing, only very slightly affecting two of the signatures and not the text. Together with a printed 4to souvenir sheet issued for Project Gemini featuring various images, text and facsimile signatures of crew members including Neil Armstrong, Gus Grissom, Ed White, Dave Scott, Michael Collins, Buzz Aldrin etc. With two US postage stamps neatly affixed and cancelled at Kennedy Space Centre, 29th September 1967.
