A Magnificent and Very Rare Minton Majolica Satyr Pedestal c.1860. Designed by Albert Carrier Belleuse. Modeled as a trefoil shaped stand decorated with a deep laurel band to the bottom edge below an oval panel with maiden mask framed with a garland of Pedestal c.1860. Modeled as a trefoil shaped stand decorated with a deep laurel band to the bottom edge below an oval panel with maiden mask framed with a garland of laurel with pink ribbon and a large relaxing bearded satyr laying in a bed of acanthus and supported by a large scroll foot, all with a green gadrooned top edge. Originally designed to support the important Minton Majolica blackamoor figure, the pedestals could be purchased separately. One foot broken off and into pieces from previous repairs
