Twelve (12) Andrew Molles (California/Austria, 1907-1975) ink on paper woodblocks, untitled. Each print features two hyperrectangles, depicted primarily in black. Five signed "molles" in plate, lower right corner, three signed and dated "molles '69" in pencil, lower right under image, two signed and dated "a. molles '69" in pencil, lower right under image, two signed "a. molles" in pencil, under image, lower right. Biography (courtesy Askart: The Artists' Bluebook) Molles' works feature geometric abstraction oriented towards a hard edge painting approach and employing repetition and simplification of minimalist art. Each image approx. - 7 3/4" H x 6 3/8" W. Paper - 12" H x 16 1/2" W. Provenance: From the estate of Robert L. Zarbock. Proceeds to benefit Zarbockís alma mater, the University of Illinois.
