Description
Late 19th century Russian Silver gilt and cloisonne enamel sugar bowl, done in the 84 zolotnik. With sections of hand embellished cloisonne enamel in various patterns of bead work, scroll work, and geometric shapes. Decorated with purple meshwork and arabesques in green, blue, and white enamel. The applied handles done in cobalt blue and beaded turquoise cloisonne enamel with a red stone cabochon set to each. Interior and exterior of bowl has gold-washed finish. Holds the 84 zolotnik mark to underside along with hallmarks for Moscow, Russia, c. 1883. Vasily Aleksandrovich Petrov - Russian assay master, active in Moscow from 1883 - 1893. Silversmith mark appears to be either Gustav Klingert or Semen Kazakov. Hallmarked with maker’s mark, assay mark, fineness and town mark. Measures approx. 3-7/8" H x 7-1/2" W x 3-3/4" D. Weighs approx. 342 grams (10.9 ozt). Will not ship, we can refer local shippers.
