Ohara Koson was a Japanese painter and printmaker of the late 19th and early 20th centuries and became a part of the shin-hanga ("New Prints") art movement in Japan. This movement was influenced by European Impressionism and its imagery focused on landscapes, women, and nature. Koson is well known for his serene images of animals and nature.
