"Two hunting episodes make up the sporting content in this work. One in the chapter 'Tomo and the Wild Lakes' in which two Indians jack for deer up the river towards Long Lake, and the other in the article 'Head Waters of the Penobscot' in which the author and his companions took a moose . Rare." - Heller, 720; Phillips, p. 377 -- both citing the 1st U.S. Edition titled "Summer Gleanings: or, Sketches and Incidents of a Pastor's Vacation." A good copy of a rare Adirondacks work.

Condition
Wear and rubbing to binding, corners worn; offsetting to endpapers, a portion of the title page has been torn away removing the words 'and Incidents', scattered foxing; about very good.
