Description
Serial no. 00002. "Highway 61" single-cone resonator by Republic Guitars, an Austin-based guitar manufacturer whose founder was inspired to start the company after hearing Johnny Winter play acoustic blues on a resonator. The model of the guitar takes its name from US-HWY 61, often called "The Blues Highway," which links Memphis, TN to New Orleans, LO. The serial number indicates that it was a prototype, which was given to Johnny by the manufacturer. Wooden fretboard and headstock and metal body. Gold and silver metal used in tuners. Republic logo on top of headboard. Metal shows some slight rusting and discoloration.
