Description

Chinese Embroidered Black Silk Robe, early 20th c., with gold thread dragon decoration, H.- 59 in., W.- 26 in.

Condition

The gold thread is loose throughout the robe. The gold thread ribbon is loose, separating and missing in sections along the collar. The gold thread is loose throughout the embroidered dragons. The gold thread ribbon along the left sleeve is missing in sections and separating from the sleeve. The right sleeve has loose thread and is slightly separating. There is green discoloration throughout the robe; the interior blue silk lining has leached through the fabric. An excellent piece.
