Two Small Japanese Satsuma Vases The first of baluster form with a foliated mouth, the body with two large reserves contained within raised tassel-form borders featuring various figures in a landscape, all on a brocade ground, the base marked 'Hododa Zo'; the second of hexagonal bottle form painted to the body with female figures dressed in elaborate kimonos and set in a garden with wistarias and irises, the base marked 'Kozan'. Meiji Period {Taller: 7 1/8 inches (18.1 cm)} [Minor wear; the first with a small chip and minor cracks to the foot rim]
