A GEORGE III FINELY CAST BRASS FIREPLACE FENDER AND PAIR OF LATER BRASS ANDIRONS, LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY, of reticulated breakfront form centering a frieze of radiating shield form ovals above egg-and-dart base trim, surmounted by an acanthus wrapped balustrade, flanked by shallow relief panels, enclosing ribbon-tied berried laurel swags above egg-and-dart base trim, within tapering rectangular columnar pedestals crowned by foliate and acorn finials, raised on hairy paw feet, height: 6 3/4", width: 67", depth: 15"; together with a pair of George III style brass andirons with rectangular columnar stems surmounted by fluted egg-and-dart trimmed conforming capitals, supporting tapering reeded lidded urn finials centering guilloche banding, raised on tapering rectangular columnar legs with stepped feet, height: 20 1/4", width: 8 5/8", depth: 24 1/4". Condition
Good condition, balustrade needs tightening, expected light surface marks and small scratches, normal polishing residue throughout, heavy and nicely cast.
