Provenance: From the collection of Alvin Colston Busey, Silver Spring, MD.
Catalogue Note: Card number 66 was originally slated to be Ted Williams. However, due to a contract dispute with Topps, with whom Williams was signed, Bowman replaced Williams with a card featuring Jimmy Piersall. Interestingly, Piersall was also featured on card number 210, as planned before the change. The only difference between these cards appears to be the trivia question featured on the back. The result is that the unofficial #66 Ted Williams card is one of the more sought after cards of the era, while also making the #66 Jimmy Piersall somewhat more desirable than the #210 example.
