Joseph Trippetti (b. 1923), Woman's Head, Cincinnati, OH, silver wire cloisonne enamel, signed "Trippetti", 5"w x 7"h
Provenance:
Artist Bio: Joseph Trippetti, born Philadelphia 1923, attended the University of California, Berkeley, and the Philadelphia Museum School of Art, studying painting, printmaking, and silversmithing, and apprenticed with artist and ceramicist John Butler. Joseph continued his studies in silversmithing at the Sheffield School of Arts and Crafts, England, where he developed an interest in the medieval imagery of Renaissance tapestries. After returning to the U S, he moved to New Hampshire to join Butler's new pottery studio. Joseph soon opened his own studio, focusing on the art of enameling, utilizing both his silversmithing and pottery skills. While traditional medieval imagery is often found in is work, he also explores abstract and nonobjective styles. Cloisonne is his preferred medium. Joseph Trippetti lives and works in Cincinnati, Ohio.
